Basilstream is a short statured she-cat. Her frame is small and petite, but with all the fur on her body you can’t really tell that she is smaller than she appears. She has such long whiskers, for such a short body, which is one of the first things noticeable on her face.

Basilstream is a beautiful torbie she-cat. At first glance she almost looks like just a tortoiseshell she-cat, but look closely and you will find the faint markings of the tabby. Black is thrown everywhere and anywhere, but mostly is found on her face, and in the faint tabby striping. White can be found around her eyes, muzzle, and chest. Not to mention all four of her paws are slightly tipped with white.

History
Overview
Basilstream was born twenty-two moons ago to two loyal warriors. Her parents didn't have much luck when it came to kits. Their first litter consisted of two kits, a tom and she-cat. Both died of greencough during their third moon. The next litter was welcomed eight moons later. Stormkit and Slatekit, both toms, shared similar fates as their older siblings. At two moons both kits passed away to greencough.
The Life of a Kit
And so we begin with the story of Basilkit. The one bright spot in her parents life. Her parents decided against having any other kits. That is until Basilkit came twelve moons later. Her mother died, committing suicide [Deathberries, lots of them], not wanting to see another kit die of greencough, like her four previous kits had. Basilkit was given to her mother's sister, who had two kits of her own that were close to becoming apprentices.
Basilkit thrived and was loving the attention her father gave her. She was going to be taken care of by him, fully. Plans changed when her third moon was reached and her father died in an awful accident. Basilkit was left with her aunt, who happily raised the kit as her own. Basilkit really didn't know any difference, and considered her aunt her mother. It had been all she had known up until this point, and she didn't even know her family's previous plan. The kit was a quiet little thing, and looked just like her aunt, so why not consider her Basilkit's biological mother? Basilkit stuck close to her mother, and enjoyed her kithood, playing with the other kits and even her cousins (whom she considered her siblings), who were apprentices.
Finally an Apprentice
Who would have thought that the little kit that had been thought to be dead by now was still alive and ready to become an apprentice. She had already surpassed the age of all of her dead siblings. Though, she still considered her aunt her mother, she never was told of her real heritage, her aunt made sure of it. Basilkit became Basilpaw when she reached her sixth moon, and the little apprentice could not be more excited. She was given a mentor who was just perfect for the little energetic furball. Her mentor was wonderful with her, and was happy to have an apprentice so eager to learn. Basilpaw was on any and every patrol she possibly could, not wanting to miss a single second of anything. Being so eager to learn helped her. Basilpaw was the little apprentice that never quit. She had to be told to take a break and pretty much forced to stay in camp. If the medicine cat needed herbs collected, Basilpaw would volunteer. As long as her paws were busy, Basilpaw didn’t care what she did. Things progressed well and she was still a happy little apprentice who loved her mother and siblings deeply. Her favorite day was watching her siblings become warriors. She made sure her voice was one of the loudest in congratulations. She couldn’t wait until that was her.
One moon before she was made a warrior Basilpaw had to endure something no one wanted the bubbly apprentice to. Her aunt/mother fell sick with greencough, and died not too soon after. It seemed as if the family killer had struck again. Basilpaw was devastated. The once bubbly and lively apprentice wanted nothing to do with anyone in the clan. She even refused to going on patrols, which was something that wasn’t thought possible. Patrols had been Basilpaw’s favorite thing to do. She went into a depression state and not even her siblings were able to bring her out of it. It took all she had just to continue to go on. With a quarter moon left till her warrior ceremony, Basilpaw was somewhat getting back to her normal self, or so everyone thought. She performed her tasks, like she was asked, but she lacked the spark that she normally held. Her eyes were dull and her coat lacked any shine potential.
Time to be a Warrior
Basilpaw’s depression continued yet she acted like everything was normal. Her siblings were worried about her, and did everything they could to cheer up their little sister. She had been the one cat that could always cheer them up, now they felt it was their turn. When Basilpaw became Basilstream, her siblings made sure they were the loudest and proudest at her ceremony. They also wanted to be on the first patrol with her as a warrior. The entire patrol they shared memories of their mother, and it soon became too much for Basilstream. She ran back to camp and ignored everyone again. It took a good paw to the face for her to come around. After a stern chat from her sister, where she was not allowed to run away, Basilstream realized this is not how her mother would want her to act. So she slowly started coming back to her bubbly self. Still to this day, Basilstream has some issues with grief but she is doing what she had done before her mother’s death. Being that sulking cat was not honoring her mother’s death, it was just tearing her family further apart. She didn’t want any more of her family (what little is left) to die with her sulking. Now she lives to go on patrols again, but for a different reason. Patrols make her forget everything. If she throws herself into patrols and hunting, she doesn’t have to think of her mother. She can just be herself, the cat her mother would be proud of.
