History
Kit hood:
Adderkit, as he was known then, had a abnormal kit hood by his opinion. His mother, Swallowheart, was a cruel queen that hardly cared for her litter of two. In her opinion, they were simple little creatures keeping her from her fulfilling her duties as a warrior. As a result, she snapped at her two young kits almost constantly, sometimes even resorting to violence if they were to slow or she was just simple fed up with them. Both kits were underfed and avoided playing with others of their age. None suspected that the queen was practically torturing the fatherless kits. Adderkit and Quickkit had to lean heavily on one another to survive the challenging kit hood.
Apprenticeship:
Adderpaw and Quickpaw were apprenticed at six moons as usual. Adderstrike received an elderly she-cat named yellowclaw as his mentor while Quickpaw received their mother. The effect of this simple mistake on the leaders part would be catastrophic for the entire clan. Adderpaw watched as, day after day, his beloved brother became darker and twisted by their mother's doing.
Adult hood:
Adderstrike and Quickstep soon received their warrior names. The pair, always having been inseparable, had become distant with one another. Quickstep had become almost as violent as their mother and more malicious. Moons passed with little to no change. Adderstrike, still desperate to see the good in his brother, ignored his acts of violence against his own young apprentice. But that would soon change. Adderstrike fell in love with breezepaw, his brother's apprentice. The pair would often be seen together around the camp of on patrol. Day after day they well deeper in love with on another. Quickstep quickly began to grow jealousy of the bond. Until that point, Adderstrike had confined solely in him and trusted him with everything. One day, while Adderstrike was on patrol, both Breezepaw and Adderstrike's own apprentice disappeared. Frantic, Adderstrike searched for them for days. Quickstep followed him on these ventures quietly offering advice where needed. Finally the two apprentices were found by the brothers, dead in a hole drenched with Quickstep's scent. In a fit of rage, Adderstrike murdered his brother on the spot.
Aftermath:
Adderstrike met Brigthstar outside the camp, startling the young leader with his blood soaked appearance. She quickly escorted him to the Medicine cat's den, careful not to let the other cats see him. There the heartbroken young cat told them everything. Brigthstar and the medicine cat were horrified and agreed to keep it from the majority of the clan. To this day, no one really knows what happened to Quickstep and Breezepaw while the assume Adderstrike's apprentice died from green cough.
